Well, where do I start ?, Well 2 names ~ Beckham & Rooney. David Beckhams return to Old Trafford was nothing short of the return of the Messiah. The crowd adore him, the players respect him , and when he set foot on the Old Trafford pitch the crowd went wild. The tv cameras gave a close-up of his reaction and he was close to tears. Awesome display too, and he nearly broke the back of the next in the 71st minute with a piledriver of a volley, unfortuntely for him it was straight at Van de Sar.
Talking of Awesome displays, Rooney was once again brilliant. Scoring 2 and ALWAYS a danger, his pace is electric, his awareness is awesome, and for the sake of all English football fans pray he doesnt get injured before South Africa.

Coronation Street ( Wed 10th )

Ive hardly missed any episode of the Street for over 20 years , and the quality goes on and on. The current Peter Barlow, Ken, George , Leeanne and son Peter storyline is gathering momentum. Chris Gascoigne, who plays Peter is a great actor, and his portayal of a drunk is awesome. Antony Valentine who plays George is a great addition to the show. Ive watched Valentine for over 40 years and he is always believeable.

Emerdale ( Wed 10th )

Good to see Ashley and Laurel ( Charlotte Bellamy ) back together again after Charlottes leave of abscence through pregnancy. Her comic timing is superb, and she and character Ashley are fantastically well matched in the show.

Emmerdale ( tues 9th )

A good storyline developing in the Cain, Charity and Debbie saga. Thursday sees the answer to whether or not Charity will actually go ahead with the ' surprise' wedding to cain. Not sure how that one will end up. Also see's the end ( for now ) of Debbie Dingle. No-one can have failed to notice how far gone the actress is in her pregnancy and she is looking rather 'swell' in all departments, no matter how many times she covers up, folds her arms. The actress returns in the autumn though after her ' baby-break'. I hope when she does, the scriptwriters give actress Charley Webb better storylines as her being boss of a garage simply doesnt fit. She is NOT a mechanic, never gets her hands full of grease, oil, cuts and bruises ala any mechanic ( I should know, I was one ..lol ).

Hells Kitchen ( tues 9th )

Not many left in Gordon Ramsays Hells Kitchen. To be honest there is some real dumb-asses left in there. Thing is, I just couldnt stand to be shouted, cussed at or humiliated by anyone the way Ramsay does to his students. A smack in the Ramsey mush would have been forthcoming way before now.
This week saw the students doing a taste test, followed by their usual mish-mash of culinary disasters.

Wild At Heart ( sun 7th )

Two programmes left in this series and I love the whole show. DuPlessis ( Deon Stewardson ) had a heart attack in the show tonight and the actor always produces such believable performances. The animals, scenery and cracking plots make this a MUST see for me.

Dancing On Ice ( sun 7th )

One of the highlights of ANY of the previous series ( take note producers : SERIES and not SEASON ! ) was the dance of Hayley & Daniel . Dancing to the song 'Jay Yo', from Slumdog Millionare these two produced THE best dance I have EVER seen on DOI. Superb wasnt the word, and thoroughly deserved 6's across the board.

Ant & Dec's Push The Button ( sat 6th )

Two shows into the new series and Im enjoying the format, Aabit like a mixture of the Generation Game and Its a Knockout. Ant & Dec are a very rare commodity. Like a throwback to the old variety days of the 1970's Saturday evening schedules.

Long may that continue, and keep up the great work.

Hole In The Wall ( sat 6th )

Since Anton DuBeke took over as host from Dale Winton, I think the show has been better. DuBeke, using his popularity from SCD to the max makes a good easy genial host. Tonights show was a repeat, but a funny one nevertheless. Joe Swash took the honours and deciding to play the endgame failed and the £10k charity money went to Austin Healeys team.

Bette Midler - Diva in Vegas ( sat 6th )

Bette Midler has always been an enigma to me , but thought I would tune in to watch 30 mins of her show in Vegas. I always look forward to the 'reveal' at the top of each show. She appeared from behind dancers and backdrop of roses, good one ms.Midler. The divine Ms.M went on to sing a good half a dozen songs in her customary style, not excatly my cup of tea but she does have a good voice, but dodgy personality..lol

Harry Hill's TV Burp ( sat 6th )

One of the highlights of the week for me. Harry Hill is superb, and one of the few natural entertainers who are actually funny, love this show and never miss it. Even watch the repeat on Sundays.

Brucie in Las Vegas ( sat 6th )

Brucie did Las Vegas and with the exception of the 'Rat Pack' tribute show which he and I agreed was rubbish, he had a great time. He chatted to the daughters of both Sammy Davis Jnr, and Dean Martin, then chatted with the musical director of Elvis Presley.
Inside one huge shopping mal there was a replica of St.Marks Square from Venice. Wilmenia was there with Brucie, and together they took a gondola ride, all indoors, amazing !

Wilmenia looked as she was reallly enjoying herself, especially when wasting Brucie's money at the casino. A cheesy ending to the show saw Bruce & Wilmenia renewing their wedding vows at the Elvis Presley Wedding Chapel, and their vows were done with a real-life Elvis impersonator.

Great show.

Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares

Well, I watch this every week and this week ,after the England game I tuned into Channel4 +1 to watch Gordon trying to rescue an ailing Cuban restaurant in the U.S.

Run by a husband and wife couple who split a few years ago the restaurant was failing due to internal strife between the couple and a huge overstock of produce. Needless to say Ramsay worked his magic and , as in all of his American shows, things ended happily and he even reunited the fractious couple...awwwwwwwwwwwww....lo

Well, I watch Eggheads Mon - Fri each weeek, and a milestone this evening because after a run of 36 winning games, they eventually lost to the Wise Owls. Kevin lost the first head to head , then Judith went, followed by Chris, leaving just Pat & Barry to face the 4 opponents. Congrats to the Wise Owls who picked up a healthy £37,000.

Ireland v Brazil ( tues 2nd )

Not a bad game, shown live on ITV , and even though Ireland huffed and puffed, Brazil never got out of 2nd gear tonight. Good enough to ease to a 2 - 0 win. Kaka dissapointing, Robinho missed a hatfull of chances, and the Irish defence made some awful mistakes.

Robson Green's Extreme Fishing ( tues 2nd )

Ive grown accustomed to Robson Green over the last 2 series of Extreme Fishing. Never got on with him in Soldier Soldier, or programmes after, but this fishing series is very good. Tonight he is in Alaska. Good gig though for him, as his programmes take him all around the world. Highlight for me so far in this series was about 3 weeks ago when he was in Asia and was part of a group of blue clad japanese fishermen which had corralled thousands of fish into one net, amazing sight.

Tonights show was dull. Natasha came home. Amanada Donahue is beginning to look rather aged. Still, she remains one of the best actresses on the show.

Always worth a watch, just for the cryptic comments of narrator Dave Lamb.
In the 18 months or so Ive been a regular weekly watcher of this show, there have been some real plonkers on.
Tonights exhibit was a guy who reckoned to be a wine buff. LOL. What a tosser. Talk about trying to be someone he wasn't. Gawd, the British public beggar belief sometimes.
Nice home though.

I always watch a little of both GMTV and BBC Breakfast, mostly GMTV. Its a good start to the day except for one person, that bloody financial expert Martin Lewis. This condecending ass drives me nuts. Its been a long time since Ive seen anyone who thinks he knows everything there is to know about isa's tessa's saving fuel bills, best way to save money etc etc etc. Its ok if youve GOT money to save to the extent he is suggesting. Idiot !!!!!!!!!

I've been watching the series since show 1, and each of the previous serier over the last 3 years. ( WHY do the Americans insist these days in calling a series ' a season' ?? ) I like Gordon Ramsay, and I love the way he attacks underperforming aspiring chefs. Tonights episode saw the boys beat the girls with a man down.

Well, long awaited BBC proggie / drama 5 Days. I watched the first 45 mins of the hour long show, then the phone rang, missed the last 15 mins..grrrr
From what I saw, there were 3 plots going on, the woman jumper infront of the train , Surrahn Jones character's mum , and the abandoned baby at the hospital. I will try watching tonights episode ( its on at 9pm BBC1 each night this week ) to see if I can catch up.
A little confusing so far.

Coronation Street ( Monday 1st )

Still the finest soap. Tonight Backy lost her baby, superb acting by her and Steve. Not sure how long this situation with Gail and her dead hubby is going to go on for. Rumour has it poor Gail ( hamster'ish ? ) is going to be arrested later in the week for Joe's murder.

Good to see Sunita and Dev back together in tonights show, but how long for....watch this space.

Looking forward to seeing Surrrhan Jones new series 5 Days starting at 9pm on BBC1 tonight.

Loved her and Steve MacDonald's relationship when she was in the show.

Eastenders ( Monday 1st )

Dont like Eastenders much these days. Too many young chavvy characters for my liking. They are 'dumbing down' the show and its taking a turn for the worse.

Like Grange Hill, all the 'yoofs' can hardly say a sentence without saying 'innit'.

Gone are the majorityof the older characters, actors & actresses who can actually act.

The young girl who plays Whitney is a prime example, as is the young black girl who plays the 'friend' of Stacey.

Lacey Turner who does play Stacey is a superb actress. Tonights episode was a waste of space. Who the hell cares who stole some Royal Mail letters, and it emerged before the doof-doofs that Ians daughter is apparently pregnant.

The lad who plays young Nathan Wilde must be a good actor as even I want to give him a slap. Dont like Faye, never have. Debbie Dingle is sure ready for her exit on the show, she is loooking soooooooo big , anyone would think she is pregnant..lol. Tries hard to cover the bump, but she is getting ready to go on maternity leave.

Am liking Laurel and Ashley getting back together, but I feel we havent seeen the last of loopy Sally.

I always watch this when I can. Just watched todays, and it was ok except the usual gripe I have with this show. Why does presenter Tim Woolacott always have to grin at the camerea when hes either asking a question, or hearing an answer. He has this slimey gap-tooth Terry Thomas style smirk. He is always leering at the camera instead of looking at the person he's chatting to..GRRRRRRRRRRRR..makes me wanna strangle the git sometimes.

This has been a 'must see or record' for me ever since the first series. Still attracts millions of viewers and I think Steven Tomkinson is great as the vet. My fave is Duplacee ( spelling? ), like his earthy style.

The scenery and animals make the show, and good storylines, as ever. Wasnt sure about the lady who replaced Amanda Holden, but she's grown on me now, and 'she'll do'..lol

Dancing On Ice

Well, last night it was Emily's turn to be voted off. She danced very well, but was up against Daniella ( no septum ) Westbrook who, is dancing very well and has improved her popularity a lot in this show.

Didnt realise until a couple of weeks ago when I saw her in the audience that Emily's mum is none other than Kate Robbins. Ive liked watching Kate's work for years, like brother Ted Robbins too, famous to me for his stint on Phoenix Nights.

Current batch of coah trip tourist include an idiot of a black guy called Joe, who insists on taking a little voodoo doll called Freddie everywhere he goes and talking to it.
